About PesoPlan

Free, accurate Philippine finance tools — no sign-up, no fluff.

PesoPlan is built by a small independent team that got tired of confusing, ad-stuffed finance pages and inconsistent numbers. Search for something as ordinary as "how much is my take-home pay" and you'll find pages quoting contribution tables from three years ago, calculators that don't say what they assume, and articles that bury the answer under 800 words of preamble.

We make the opposite: simple, accurate calculators and comparisons for everyday money questions in the Philippines — take-home pay, SSS / PhilHealth / Pag-IBIG contributions, 13th-month and holiday pay, freelancer tax, loans, pensions, savings, digital banks, and credit cards. Every tool gives you the answer first, then explains how it got there.

How we keep figures accurate

Money information is only useful if it's correct, so accuracy is the actual product here. Concretely, that means:

  • Official sources first. Tax and contribution rates come from BIR (TRAIN), SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG. Where a page depends on a specific issuance — a circular, advisory, or schedule — we name it in that page's sources note.
  • The math is unit-tested. Every calculator's logic lives in a tested function, checked against worked examples — bracket boundaries, floors, ceilings, and rounding rules included. The site currently ships over a hundred such tests, and we run them before shipping a change. Most figures in our explanations are generated from that same tested code rather than typed in by hand, so a page and the calculator it documents can't quietly disagree.
  • Versioned data with a freshness check. Rate tables are stored with the date they were verified, the source, and a confidence level. An automated check flags any table that has aged past its re-verification schedule, so stale numbers surface to us rather than quietly sitting on the page.
  • Volatile figures are labelled as such. Bank and loan rates change monthly and are often personalised. We show how current ours are and tell you plainly to confirm with the provider before you act.
  • Figures are dated. Our calculators, guides, and comparison pages carry either a "last updated" date or an "as of" date for the rates they use. If a figure matters, you should be able to see how old it is.

Your numbers stay on your device

Our calculators run entirely in your browser. The salary, income, loan amount, or savings figure you type is never sent to us and never stored — there's no account, no sign-up, and no reason for us to collect it. That's also why you can use any tool here without giving up an email address first. See our privacy policy for the full detail on analytics and cookies.

How the site is funded

PesoPlan is free to use. To keep it running we may show ads and use affiliate links — if you sign up for a product through some of our links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

That arrangement creates an obvious temptation, so here's our rule: it never changes a ranking or a number. Our comparisons are ordered on the merits — the digital-bank page ranks by the everyday rate an ordinary saver actually earns, not the headline promotional rate, and our personal-loan page flags add-on rates precisely because they make a loan look about half as expensive as it really is. Where a headline number is misleading, we say so plainly, and affiliate links are disclosed where they appear.

Corrections

We will get something wrong eventually — rules change, agencies reissue tables, and we're human. If you spot a figure that looks off, tell us and we'll check it against the primary source. If we're wrong, we fix it and update the page's "last updated" date. We'd much rather be corrected than be confidently wrong in public.

Not financial advice

Our tools give estimates for educational purposes and are not financial, tax, or legal advice. They model the general rules, not your specific situation — your payslip can differ because of allowances, company policy, a collective bargaining agreement, loan deductions, or an employer's withholding schedule. Rules also change. For decisions that matter, confirm with the relevant agency, your employer, or a licensed professional.
